We all love a person with great personality. We all crave for a great personality. We idolize some people, envy some others, and at times wish we were like on of them. But most people can't bring themselves to change their lifestyle once they believe they're set in their ways. If you're one of them, this article is for you. Yes, you can change your lifestyle. It just requires a small effort from your side. In this post I'll be talking about how to inculcate good habits.

Changing your lifestyle or getting new habits? How does changing your habit reflect upon your lifestyle? Well, the answer is that you cannot go ahead and dramatically change your lifestyle. But you can change your habits with some motivation and self-control. After all, habits are just a small part of your lifestyle, you can say that your habits are defining units which together constitute your personality. So if you can change your habits bit by bit, you can become the person of your dreams!

Set a target

The very first step is determining what it is that you are trying to achieve. Do you want to add a new habit to your lifestyle like getting up early, or are you trying to get rid of a bad habit like smoking? Keep reminding yourself of your new habit.
Write down exactly what you want and also the result that you expect. Clearing up this part helps you to focus more on the objective, and you get less distracted.

Plan

You now have your goal but don't know what to do with it. Don't worry, all you need is a plan to help you organize your thoughts about how you want to go ahead with achieving your target. If you find your target unachievable, or impossible, don't give up. Break your goal into smaller goals, and strive to achieve them first. For example, if you want to quit smoking, a good starting point would be cutting down the amount of junk food you consume in a day. From there, you can go on to limiting yourself per week, then per month, and finally, you have enough control over yourself to get what you wanted.

Reward yourself

Changing your habits isn't easy. There will be moments when you 'd get a little lax, and all your plans would crumble down. But don't give up. Instead, reward yourself for every little milestone that you achieve. This will keep you motivated and energized for the track ahead. Cut yourself some slack, don't spend too much energy on this or you'll end up exhausted, and this is one of the main reasons people quit in between.

Take help from a friend

Share your goals with your friends. Get them involved, and if you are determined to get meet your target, tell as many as feasible, and make yourself accountable. So on days where you feel like giving up, you can just imagine what others would think of you, or you can seek help from your closest friends to push you.
